K2 The Mountaineer's Mountain.
76.5133° E
The second-highest mountain on Earth — and by every measure that matters, the most technical. Frame N° 02 is the connoisseur's pick of the Summit Series. Hexagonal pilot. Sharper than the icon.
Historical fatality rate. The highest of any 8,000-metre peak.
The savage
mountain.
K2 is shorter than Everest by 238 metres. It is also, by every measure that matters, a different magnitude of mountain. Steeper. More isolated. More technical. Less merciful. For every four climbers who reach the summit, one does not return. The connoisseur's peak — the mountain you discuss with people who have nothing to prove.

The inner temple of every Frame N° 02 carries: 35.8825° N, 76.5133° E. The summit of the Savage Mountain.
The name was given by George Bell in 1953, after surviving the failed American expedition. "It's a savage mountain that tries to kill you." The name stuck. K2 has the highest fatality-to-summit ratio of any peak in the eight-thousanders. One climber dies for every four who reach the top. The Bottleneck section — the final, brutal ice traverse before the summit — has killed more people than any single feature in mountaineering.
It is not the tallest mountain in the world. It is, by every climber who has measured them both, the hardest. The summit was not reached until 1954, a full year after Everest. No one has summited K2 in winter without supplemental oxygen and survived to climb again — the ones who have done it, never returned to attempt anything bigger. The mountain ends careers.
The coordinate marks the only place on K2 that does not actively try to kill you. The top. The frame remembers what most gear forgets: the standard is not survival. It's silence.
The Savage mark.

Shorter than Everest.
By every other measure, more.
Eight thousand six hundred and eleven metres — and almost no one comes back to talk about it.
K2 is 238 metres shorter than Everest. By every other measure, a different magnitude of mountain. Steeper. More isolated. More technical. Less merciful.
The Bottleneck couloir sits at 8,200 metres — a narrow gully directly under a hanging serac that has been calving ice onto climbers for seventy years. There is no route up K2 that doesn't pass through it.
For every four climbers who reach the summit, one does not return. That number is older than I am. It hasn't changed.
K2 is not the icon. It is the savage. The connoisseur's mountain. The peak you talk about with people who have nothing to prove — because they already know what 8,611 means and what it costs.
Frame N° 02 was built for the same kind of person. Not the loudest. Not the most decorated. The one who knows what 25% means and is still going.
